We are a community of young people who value encountering God, being transformed by the Spirit and sharing Jesus.
Encounter
We love spending extended times in God's presence through worship and prayer because we know that in the midst of a busy life when we set everything else aside to worship we begin to encounter God and he leads us by his love.
Transform
We value accountability and vulnerability when we do discipleship, because we know this leads to change in our lives. We want to continually transform into people of integrity, compassion, and joy just like Jesus.
Share
When we know something is really good we can't hold back telling people about it! We believe that with the Holy Spirit's help we can share what it means to be Jesus followers through our loving words and actions to those around us. It's naturally supernatural.

Sundays
The youths have spoken! Pancakes have now become a part of how to fellowship together on Sunday mornings. If you are aged 11-18 you are welcome to join the Youth Team for pancakes in the Upper Hall starting around 9:45 am (during coffee time) until the 10:45 service begins. This is the perfect time for random questions and tangents.
After worship at the 10:45 am service secondary school and sixth form students head upstairs to the Upper Hall for bible study. We'll read a passage, get a little historical context, then split into discussion groups. In these groups we'll try to think of how to apply what we've heard to our lives. After we pray for one another, we will play a game and finish at about 12:30.
midweek
DEEPER
Deeper is a small group for any youth who are wanting to dig deeper into the bible, prayer, and community. Thom and Martha Whiffen will be hosting the group from their home in Cherry Hinton at 7pm. If you are interested in joining for dinner and bible study please contact youth@stbs.org so we can send you more information.
Mentoring
For anyone in year 10 and above, we offer mentoring. This is an opportunity to meet one-to-one with another member of the church, to be encouraged and challenged as you grow in your faith.
Friday nights
Do you like games, food and friendship? There are lots of options for a chill hang at Friday Night Youth. Most weeks we have a video game room, a card/ board game room, and a room for ping-pong. But each week we'll have one rotating activity available like a bonfire, painting on canvas, junk modeling or an organized game. Our goal for Fridays is to create a fun space to invest in friendships and build community.
For food we alternate between pizza and toasties, but our tuck shop is ever growing so bring some change and you can get some instant ramen or some sweets!
Whether you attend St Barnabas Church or not, anyone between the ages of 11-18 is welcome to join for as much or as little as they want. Come and join us from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in the St Barnabas Centre behind the main church!
TERMLY
Youth afterparty
We love what servant-hearted teenagers we have at St Barnabas! About once a term our B.Kids Ministry hosts big events like 'The Night of Light' or 'Pancake Party'. Youth that volunteer as group leaders etc get rewarded with an afterparty of some kind. This year we are thinking about building dens and watching a fun movie.
//Night of Light - 27th October // Pancake Party - 2nd March
Residentials
BY Weekend Away
Usually in the autumn we have an all Youth Weekend Away, this really sets the tone for the year. It is a bit of a catalyst for friendships and in the development of a young person's faith. Not because what we do is particularly flashy but because all our attention is on what God is saying to us.
//BY Weekend Away - 18-20th October
OneLife Leadership Conference
We believe everyone is a leader and that with Jesus as our example we can influence people around us for good. We love our friends at OneLife and we'll hopefully take a few people down to London during February half term to get input from them along with some fun and games.
//OneLife Leadership Conference - 20-22th February
All of the team who lead and help at Barnabas Youth are fully DBS checked. Before joining the team you will have to go through a full DBS check. A summary of our safeguarding policy can be viewed if you click here.
