Welcome
to St Barnabas...
Whether you are surfing idly or seeking seriously, I hope you will
find something here to interest you!
St Barnabas is an informal and we hope welcoming Anglican congregation
in the evangelical-charismatic tradition. Situated on the edge of
the city, we function in some ways like a city centre church, drawing
our congregation from a wide area. However, we have a growing commitment
to ministry in our local community. We are also seeking to equip
church members for life and ministry in the varied personal communities
to which they belong. Small group fellowship is considered vital
to support this. Our worship is lively and heartfelt drawing people
of all ages.
We have summed up what we aspire to be as a church in the following
words:
- BEING in the Father's love
- BECOMING more like Jesus
- BUILDING the Community of the Spirit
|
We believe that the starting point for church life is to introduce
people to and encourage a genuine relationship with God – both personally
and corporately. Growing from this we want to help one another both
to persevere and grow in our faith and also to welcome and reach
out to others. We believe that the church exists for God's mission
in the world and that a strong community life in the church will
help each of us to live this out.
A sense of belonging is always a first and crucial step for new
people at St Barnabas and we try to provide for this through encouraging
involvement in a variety of small groups. If you would like to find
out more about these or anything else that happens at St Barnabas,
please have a look elsewhere on the website: or better still, come
along on Sunday!
With best wishes,
Nick Ladd
- Vicar
